With all of the recent talk about "bailing out" the auto industry, I thought it would be interesting to talk about what we drive.

    My daily driver is a 2007 F-150 SuperCrew KR 4 x 4.

It's a fit for me because I can haul equipment to job sites and get right up to the building with 4 wheel drive while having 3 more clients with me in air conditioned comfort.

My wife drives a 2004 Mercedes Benz S500.

The car has it all and is very comfortable. Needless to say the car is a bullet yet stil gets 26~28 MPG on the highway. It is a great road car as well as being nimble around town.

I miss the big American cars and look forward to up comming models like the new rear wheel drive Chevy Impala with an efficient V8.

    Now that's a ride!

    In no particular order
    • 1999 Lincoln Navigator - 307,000 miles, 20,000 gallons (that's about 2 full tanker trucks :smt101)
    • 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII - 85,000 miles, 22ish mpg @80
    • 1983 Imperial - ~ 70,000 miles, 22 ish mpg @ 70 if I remember correctly.
    • 1976 Chrysler New York Brougham - ~ 50,000 miles, big block V8 4 BBL ThermoQuad, who gives a @#$ about mileage.
    • 2006 Jaguar Vanden Plas (wife's car) - 40,000 miles 31 mpg @ 70, 28 at 85. All aluminum body and frame helps. Goes like a scalded cat.

    Most missed:
    72 Dodge Challenger R/T SE 340 4BBL 4 speed.

    Best regards,

Believe it or not my wife and I both during the week drive Hybrids:

Mine -2003 Toyota prius 120K miles and this car has averaged 45 MPG it’s whole life, and all I have done is change oil every 5K (they recommend 7K)

Wife – 2008 Nissan Altima Hybrid 20K miles averaging 35 MPG, Great car and it is a rocket (0 -60 in 6 seconds)

Family car - (weekends) 2006 Yukon Denali XL, this is what moves the crap back and forth to the boat.

Having 2 hybrids doesn’t make me a tree hugger does it???
Denali gets 14 MPG and the boat burns 30 GPH so there… I don’t think they will let me into the tree huggers club now!!!

Forgot the plane that burns 12 GPH, (Beech B24R 120 kts.cruise) get's better millage then the boat...

You guys all have nice cars......YOU SUCK

I drive a 2003 chevy truck and my wife drives a 99 accord. I prefer to buy american, but the accord has broken WAY less than the truck, and it has way less squeaks and rattles. I know, apples and oranges, but still, there is a BIG quality difference.
