Sr. Mgr./Designer--industrial R&D--with large private mfg.

I also have my own small start-up firm where working evenings we successfully invented and patented some new technology to eliminate one of the big environmental hazards in the steel mfg industry. Recently, we got lucky and a Fortune 500 co bought us out. Maybe it's time to slow down and get serious about this boating thing. :smt001

I'm also a start-up guy in networking equipment, been bought out four times.

After the buyout it's time to "Rest and Vest" I'm actually thinking about naming my boat that. Eventually you will get itchy for another start-up.

I left a career within the bottled water industry a few years ago to join a water filtration manufacturer. Shortly after, we became 3M's largest acquisition to date and just a few months after purchasing our first boat, I was offered a position withing 3M focused on launching a series of new marine & RV-oriented water filtration systems (rvmarinewater.com). Go figure! Six months into this role, I have had the opportunity to visit a variety of boat builders, from small fishing boats to high-end yachts. Seeing boat manufacturing up close has been very interesting and makes me appreciate the hard work that goes into boat building!
