Both daughters now have college educations and are doing better than I……….and it just doesn’t get any better than that. Richest man alive and I think I have a quarter in my pocket.

Hi Mark -
Hope you & Lina are doing well and had a good season on the slopes. Hope we cross paths sometime this summer.

Now, back to the thread ...

Boy, you don't see that every day! :wow:
BS, Construction Management, WSU (Go Cougs!)

Edit: I'm dating myself a bit (in either direction), but did you enjoy your Structures classes with Ken Carper as much as we did? Guy flat-out loved what he was teaching.

I’m older, wiser and successful now, but, I started my adult life as a High School dropout. It didn’t take me very long to realize the error of my ways and I went back to night school to get my diploma while working as a fry cook during the day.

After that it was on to junior college, but, the rigor of trying to work full time and going to school full time was too much. So, I joined the U.S. Naval Reserve with a guaranty of attending Avionics Technician training after completing boot camp. After completing the Avionics school I started my “one weekend a month and two weeks a year” reserve duty routine.

Meanwhile, I went to work in the Silicon Valley at a time when there were a lot of small start-up companies who didn’t care so much about the initials after your name, but more about how they could use your knowledge, work ethic, and if you shared in their ambition to succeed.

Well, all of that was a long time ago and the rest is history, as they say. Do I wish I had a stayed in college and earned a degree? The answer is yes, but, I am not sure I would exchange my life experiences and success for a few more years of college.

So, I guess the original intent of this thread was to let people show their pride of attending a certain university and maybe how their degree adapts to boating. And, I am very proud of the time I served in the U.S. Navy and the schooling they provided me, but, it’s what you do with your knowledge and your determination that will dictate who you are and what you become.
