What Air Compressor For Inflatibles?

I don't have any experience with anything portable so I don't have any recommendations without searching myself. Sorry I can't be of any help but good luck in your search.

I use it for car tires, blowing out the fresh water lines, etc. Plus on the portability of it. I do find that it works best when I let it run and build up pressure before using it.

 

Get one of the air pumps used to blow up tubes and etc small in size moves large volumns of air also and cheap enough. Overtons has them.

 

I use this one. Low pressure high volume for floaties and toys. Auto switches to high pressure for high pressure inflatables like SUPS or dinghies. Goes up to 20 psi and is 12v.

It gets both my SUP and RIB very firm, zero need for a hand pump.

West Marine use to sell a "Blue" pump that was meant for inflatable boats. But it looks like they don't sell it any longer.

I think that won’t work so well for an inflatable boat. Use are usually rated for 14 psi. 3 psi won’t be enough.

 

My Merc 320 is 3psi and it is hard a rocks. The specs on Mercury Hypalon Infatable RIB's is 3.6PSI max. I can't imagine 15 psi on any RIB. My older Raider Marine was 3.0 PSI max.

 

Have been looking into the same thing. If you have any of the Dewalt 20v tools, they also offer a decent compressor with high/low flow/pressure options with adjustable cut out. They are a bit pricey but have decent reviews. Waiting for their next sale to grab one.

Huh, weird. My hypalon AB specs 14 PSI. At 3 psi the thing would be floppy. I used to get it to maybe 8-9 with the hand pump and call it quits. My Sea Eagle drop stick SUP calls for 14 psi max as well. It feels pretty hard at about 7-8, but getting it up at least to 12 psi makes a huge difference.

 

We bought a small inflator from Walmart and it is awesome. It pumps our Super Mable tube up in a few minutes at most.

Yep, weird for sure. I will say this, if it's floppy it's not at 3psi.

 

My Inmar is a max of 3.3psi. The overpressure valves release at that.

 

This is the one I use. It is rechargeable and you just dial in the pressure you want and it shuts off when it reaches the set-point. Very convenient and you can use it to charge your phone or whatever.

 

I bought this from west marine for my 10’ zodiac and the tow behind inflatable and you just connect it to a 12v power source and turn it on. It shuts off once it hits 3-4 psi you set it to. It’s about as fast as the hand pump but almost no work.
