What about those of us who tow to the water? Lets see your tow rigs.

Todd,

That's probably a good point. I had worried about that and planned to use a strap to pull the boat down on the trailer at the bow, but forgot to on this first pull. I'll get a second strap and strap the bow down on the trailer at the bow roller. This should keep the boat from running over the bow roller. Here's a photo of the split bow roller and the trailer with no boat:

The bow roller is also to prevent the boat from shifting forward during stopping. Are you saying the eye has nothing to stop against? If so, and you were to stop fast that boat may come up and over your trailer mast and ....bad day.

OK, I seen yours now here's mine. Thats right, mini van with a few upgrades. Category 5 hitch, HD brakes, air shocks, and trans cooler. It's the goober GT model.:smt043:smt043

Rated at 3500LBS towing capacity. Old Skool only weighs in at 2800lbs.

Looks great Bill. Good options too. Should work well.

Having not pulled the trigger (yet) on my own tow vehicle I continue to rent. Its worked out well. Nice newer Powerstroke diesel truck. Pulls the boat great and its fairly reasonable rate. The convenience factor is the major thing missing about not having my own.

Believe it or not yesterday was our 1st attempt this year to get on the water. It was raining when we left the house but figured it would pass by the time we got to the lake. Figured wrong.....ended up stopping at a restaurant, having some breakfast & headed back home :smt009
