What about those of us who tow to the water? Lets see your tow rigs.

boat and trailer.jpg I bought the new to me boat, truck and trailer all back in January. Today I am finally bringing her home for the first time...

Thank you. :) I think I like her too. Haven't been out with her a lot yet. But I can't stop visiting her parking in the back of my house. :)

Be cautious how much pressure you put on the tab cylinders. The mounting bracket to the tab is just plastic and breaks easily. (I believe this is purposeful as a shear point not to ruin the tab or cylinder.)

Here is mine. It is a 268 Sundancer, and two Yamaha PWC's. Tow vehicle is a 1999 Dodge 2500 Cummins with lots of aftermarket performance goodies. Pulls fine up the hills and stops fine with triple axle brakes. I custom built the tow hitch for the waverunner trailer, it was doable considering the boat has twins.

This is looking like a thing of a serious beauty, what year your is GMC series? I've been considering getting myself a powerful SUV from US, but the question of reinstalling the wheel to the right handside is something I am not quite certain about. Your boat is looking lovely too.

I can not be happier with my old Ford F350 Camper Special. I have a real steep driveway and pulling the 280 up after winter storage has alway been a challenge no traction about halfway up. Tying a second vehicle to the front hitch and double pulling worked in the past but at the cost of a $3500 transmission in my BMW.

This year I put 7 trash cans in the back filled them with water and that old Ford showed me what was still left in the tank. Not a single chirp from the tires just powered to the top of the hill.

Just got back from launching and she did a great job getting me there and back.

Here is a pic of my 2010 f-150 stx 4x4 and 2008 195 Sport at the campsite, they look pretty good together I think...

nice truck!!! I like Chevy/GMC

nice truck!!! I like Chevy/GMC

thanks.....this is my first experience with a heavy duty truck.....so far i am liking it.....A LOT!....except for the gas mileage.....but as i told my wife if we bought the truck for fuel economy we made a SERIOUS mistake......it's not too bad....i have aired my tires down to 45/45 psi in the front and rear to ease the ride quality a little bit and i am getting around 14 mpg with combination city and highway driving.....

now to start 'customizing' the truck by adding all the the things to personalize it for my taste.....

Nice ride Cliff. Looks she'll pull your boat with no problems.

Sideways, You Aussies seem to always have wet kits (snorkes) on your rides. Something us Americans don't know about down there?
Looks like she's nicely equipped.

no need for a snorkle on my truck.....i don't know about you guys, but i am going to be outside of a vehicle LONG before the water level gets high enough to where a snorkle is needed to let the engine breathe......:wow:........

Thanks Bill,

The truck was an abused child when i bought it!

Dust is the enemy... Moving the intake from the under the wheel arch to above the dust line.....

Also I have had a few water crossing with water over the bonnet... Nice insurance to know that it won't have a little con rod smashing drink...

Sloburn - Love the retro photos...

Sloburn, love your company ride. Thanks for standing in the gap for those in harms way.

Saidways, I remember seeing picture and video of the dust you have down there. You guys think of everything including not needing to climb over the hitch to get to the boat helm. LOL
