What about Google's new privacy policy?

Nothing you do on the internet is really hidden. This capability was split between a bunch of files in their different products. Now it is being stored all in one place so it will be easier to correlate the information.

If you're that worried about it ?? then don't use Google or Gmail . :smt024.

They're doing this to compete with Facebook, not to be an evil big brother. Facebook has so much information about their users that it's scary....and what's amazing is they have conned people into willingly give up the information. People are addicted to Facebook. Google on the other hand can see the threat that this poses to their business and they are simply merging everything that they already know about you into a central profile. They only know what you tell them but they don't "know" you in the sense that they can pull up a contact card with your home address and phone number. They know your online profile and habits. Big deal. Google has always been pretty good about their user's privacy and they have been transparent about it too...unlike Facebook.
