I wanted to share a picture of the sunset at our club. Gotta say.. nothing beats fall sunsets.

It's still sad to see the docks empty and our boat covered. Sooo... spring is only 4 months away right?

Almost looks like an explosion behind the buildings!

Unfortunately it is a long four months. What made you winter in water?

Tim, we rotate keeping it in every other year. We just don't find the value in taking the boat out of the water and paying $500 when we don't need to. The reason we take it out ever other year is to do regular maintenance that can't be done in the water.

Do you take it out every year? I know with I/O's there is a possibility of corrosion.

And, a great pic of the back of my boat.

I'll second the idea of leaving it in the water (like mine)..
An inboard powered boat with good bottom paint and regular diver service to clean the bottom and check zincs will be fine. Just ask the Florida boaters how often they come out...

I plan on finally buying a Hooka unit so I can clean the bottom myself. I am certified advanced open water so, think i can handle it.
I inspect the underside everytime I'm in the water anyway..

I have the boat pulled at the end of November. By then it needs the bottom power washed and scraped, zincs changed, and the props acid cleaned. It’s also nice not having to deal with the ice. Does it cost much more to have your boat hauled for the winter?

That's a very beautiful picture. When one considers that the photos don't usually do justice to what it really looked like, I can only imagine what the real thing was like.

Thanks for sharing it.

At our club it's $450-500. I would rather keep the money, especially since they have bubblers in the docks. :smt038

I save $1000 off the top of my winter contract staying in water (same club),.....that's almost a tank of fuel!

Winterizing, shrink wrapping, summer monthly diver service are all the same.

Make sure to check your insurance policy about winter in water coverage....my insurance is the same cost.

Mark.
