I had a muffler blow up (literally) on my 340 EC and can't find a replacement anywhere....anyone know where there might be one???

If it fiberglass. Fix it instead.
I had a friend's do the same thing and the replacement was $1000 bucks.
We used West System from the local marine store and spent around $20.
Has lasted five years now and is stronger than the original.

How did this happen.
My friends timing was WAY out and caused a big back fire that blew up his..

I rebuilt my heads on a 454. Had to crank the engine when it was apart so I lost the timing. Guessed at the distributor, figuring I had a 50-50 chance of getting it right. I then planned to crank it and turn the distributor until it fired. Used to do this all the time in cars. Good thing I don't gamble for a living.

When it blew on my 340DA one large hatch ended up in the water and two others were lifted out of place. This, even though the main hatch
over the engine was already wide open.

Figured I would be really be embarrassed explaining to my wife why I needed a new $ 1000.00 muffler. Fixed it with resin, glass mat and a little bottle of black coloring for the epoxy.
