I need to replace the existing fuel filter housing but there are no readable markings to determine the micron rating. The filter that was in there was a 10micron, it seems to run fine but im not sure if that is the correct one for the Gen?

Most everyone uses 30 micron Racors, 10 micron is overkill since the 8.0BTD has a factory mounted 10 micron filter on it. The 30 micron is a 2010PMOR if gout filter housing is 500MA.

Thanks for the reply. I figured the housings would all be the same and i could just order the correct filters, but it looks like the 500ma housings come in 2-10-30 micron.

The part number is still 2010 with an appropriate suffix, so the 30 micron is 2010PMOR……..you can look up the others if you want a finer filter than that, but you need to order a 2010XXXX.

For what it is worth, I have a 12.5KW BTD Westerbeke and I run 10 micron on that without an issue. I also run 10's for my engines as well. I'd rather stop the intrusion at the primary and not the secondary filters.

Sorry for posting a month late.

I use 10 microns in all of my Racors... I too would rather stop it at the primary filters and not the secondary. It is a whole lot easier to swap out a Racor filter then engine-mounted filters.

I ran 30s with both on and checked them more frequently with no issues. When I ran 10s I was put in some bad situations when the motors would starve.
