Westbar Bow to Beach Ladder

We have a new to us 320 Sundancer with a bow to beach ladder. Tried to put it down and it was pretty hard to fold out. Why type of lubricant should I use?

I'd try a little penetrating oil to start with, then finish it off after flexing the ladder several times with a few shots of WD40
