BC, I have gone 3 times over the years, it's a well organized, fun event. You will be glad you went.
By the way, I assume you will be at the Venetian Festival this weekend, I will be there saturday on a friends' boat at the marina. That should be fun too.

Yea, I plan on being down there. If you are over at the Red Dock some time and want to stop by for a beer let me konw! We are real close to the Red Dock, so you could tie up there and walk to our slip (the new floating dock just south west of the red dock)

Thanks for the offer. His boat has a slip already that he reserved last year. It is almost 60ft. long, so not sure if the dock would accomodate that size boat or not. I'll wander down that way with a few brews, and maybe we can talk boats and have a few.

Where in this post does it give me a location? Spring Lake? West Michigan?

Spring Lake is next to Grand Haven MI. You can boat up from lake MI or trailer and launch. I purchased my boat from Skipper Buds and get an invite every year. I have never made it to the event but I was there the day before last year and was very surprised how large the setup was. I would like to make it this year. Hopefully the weather gets better in August and September. Here is a google map of Spring Lake.

Water is quite shallow over by the red dock.

The Skipper Bud's Radio Network (93.3 on your fm dial) will start broadcasting at 10 AM Sunday morning (the 6th for those of you who don't have a calendar in front of you). The Raft Off officially starts at 11AM... Remember the earlier you get there the better spot you will have!!

As usual, we are working very closely with the Ottawa County Sheriffs Department, the DNR and the U.S. Coast Guard. These men and women are there for your safety and to help out if necessary. REMEMBER, this is a very family friendly event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know who I'm talking about young lady!!!

As you pull into Smith's Bayou please look for Carvey, he will direct you where to go! We will try very hard to keep groups together but if you have a 44 and your friend has a 26 that won't work, so plan ahead! Please don't give us any grief if we can't put you together, we will do our best.

We will have anchor crews to set the anchors for you! Please have three lines and three fenders ready.... We will tie you up!! Just get in close and we will catch you!!

There will be shuttles available to shore running all day, See ya there !

What a great party this year. Lots of boat, well over 300 this year. Some said as many as 600 boats. Plenty of eye candy as usual, some beautiful boats as well. The bands were not that great, but everyone seemed to not mind.

I heard there was supposed to be a surprise act or band. Who was it?

Some one hit wonder. A country act. I had never heard of him. He played alot of other peoples covers.
