I took last friday off and planned a three day weekend on the boat with the family. We packed the coolers and headed for the lake. We arrived to find all the walkways to the docks under 4 feet of water ! It had rained hard a few days prior and left the place a mess. What a bummer. I was unwilling to give up so we drove 70 miles south to a smaller lake (pulling a 290da). I burnt a lot of diesel to finally get on the water but it was a nice lake although small (2200 acres). I got lots of looks in the 290. The biggest boat we saw was a 23 ft. Rinker bowrider. We spent most of the time on the hook with the genny running and the AC cranked ( it was in the 90s). Here is a pic.

Quint,

Brookville was that high? Where did you end up? You should see the Ohio, it's dropping fast (1.5 feet in the 3 hours we were there yesterday) river mud and silt 3 feet thick in the boat ramp and the slips up river from me are finger to finger packed with debris. I've been down to check every unit 3 and unit 1 and so far we're safe.... dirty, slimy and embarassingly green on the bottom... but safe. Comes out nex week for some long overdue TLC. I usually pull every 7 to 10 days but with the river/weather so far this season, I've been stuck in the slip since May 5th... ouch. Be safe

Sorry to hear about your woes on the weekend trip.... Let me tell you about my weekend.... Satruday spent all ay working on the yard and wood chips in the flower gardens.. Sunday preparing for an OPEN HOUSE for the Grad... 3 hours into it, sent everyone here to the basement, Tornado spotted in the Air,, 10 miles away, but had a volenteer fireboy who paniced everyone, saying Tornado's spotted near our house, I almost Knocked his butt on the ground cause he was being a psycho.. needless to day we got everyone out of here, alive.... now that's a bad weekend.......... It rained like Hell.... heree

Yep Brookville was a wreck.....went to 4 different ramps. We wound up at East fork lake. Boltman I feel your pain, I'll let Lt. Dan comment on the volly panic inducer.

Holy crap man, Middletown to Brookville then to East Fork:wow::smt101
Boltman,
I'm not sure which is worse, an excitable kid with a minitor or the mainstream panic inducers reporting for the entire 2 1/2 hour news cycle about "dopler indicated" tornado warnings that are occuring in counties so far away that they aren't even in the same TV market. I remember growing up when a "tornado Warning" actually meant a TORNADO:smt021
