Hopefully, after the boat being on the hard for 3+ weeks, she will splash next week. :smt038 The Admiral and I would like to a weekend cruise somewhere, not sure where:huh:. Any suggestions. We have done Rock Hall and St. Mike's looking for somewhere quite but with something to do within walking distance, good restaurant or 2....

Thanks

I second Annapolis. If looking for a marina Annapolis City is good (next to Carols Creek restraint). If you want a nice pool go to Mears on Back Creek in Eastport. There are a bunch of restraints within walking distance. Mooring ball is another option but you have to either be in front 40 (in the harbor) or up Spa Creek a bit.

I love Annapolis as well, but "in town" can get quite hectic and the mooring field and marinas are usually always aflutter with activity. If you are truly looking for "quiet" maybe consider Cambridge. The city Yacht Basin and the Yacht Club (both before the bridge) offer pretty cheap rates. There isn't much on site but it is quiet and close to town. In town there are several good restaurants and pubs as well as many cultural things within walking distance. I always call it St. Mikes lite.... it has almost the same feel with the "main street" shops and restaurants and such, but it isn't as crowded and is a bit less "pretentious"

Solomon's Island is another idea. Either Zahniser's or Spring Cove have a pool, and are pretty walkable to town.

I thought your pic looked familiar! We are right below you on Sue Creek at BYC. You look to be at Baltimore Boating Center?

My recommendation would be Georgetown on the Sassafras restaurant and ice cream plus Georgetown has a water taxi to take you around. Then you can over night at Still Pond then head home!

Enjoy and I'll keep an eye out for you traveling the creek!

Tighlman Island is quiet and walkable

+1 on Tighlman. Has a nice pool and restaurants within walking distance. The last time I was there you could use a free car to go out to St. Mike's or other close destinations. The hotel has a continental breakfast also.

Go to Annapolis, head under the draw bridge in Spa Creek, either pick up a mooring or drop anchor. The moorings in the harbor can get a little choppy. Once moored you can either call the Water Taxi or dinghy into town. All the better restaurants are in Eastport.
