These 2 pictures were taken yesterday as we travelled from Newhaven to Brighton UK. The difference is incredible, but typical of British weather.

Where I live it is like that too (San Francisco Bay).

Thanks for posting the beautiful pictures...
BTW, Are those limestone clifs in the picture? I remember riding on the hovercraft out of Dover and seeing clifs that looked like that...

Seems to me that some nut (Ed Parker) thinks he can sell stuff on this site by posting ridiculous posts based on word searches... Administrator, Pls remove this person... thanks

Yes my friend, they are limestone cliffs. We were slightly west of Beachy Head, famous for people throwing themselves off. The wife took 1 picture behind us, then the other in front. Even we couldn't understand the difference in the weather. Not good weather for going out his week, gales & rough seas.

It certainly looks nice & calm there my friend. We moved from Bonny Scotland as it always rained, but here it's always too windy & rough seas. Grrrrrrr

We are anchored next to a 3,300 acre ocean front peninsela, which is now a state park, called island beach state park, see picture below... It was origally owned my my friends grandfather, who emigrated from England and became Andrew Carnegy's business partner at US Steel. It was sold to our state in early 50's and became a state park...

Cool pics, thanx. Seas can change within a few minutes here too. Squall lines are the worst. It's dead calm and all of a sudden ya get pounded by wind gusts from all directions. Then, when the skies finally clear, you're left with majorly confused seas, 3 to 4 footers at +/- 3 seconds. Mind you, a few of those wakeboard boats can churn it up like that too when they fill those bladders and start going round and round in circles like they do. There's a lot of advantages to off season boating. The weather is more predictable, anchorages are more peaceful, surface conditions in general are better because of less traffic. We have often spent New Year's Eve and day on our boat. Enjoy.
