Weather Updates East Coast??

Anybody watching twc. Very amusing one of the reporters has his legs spread wide open on the dunes and leaning to the side like he's getting blown over and its only up to 30mph were he is.I kknow its gunna b bad but the exaggeration the reports give of current conditions is quiet comical
Normally I'd agree, but looking at some of the pictures/videos of this one? Nothing very comical at all. Be safe everyone!

Why does the media find it necessary to explain this hurricane as if it is going to end the world? Just panics people for reasons I don't know. Irresponsible journalism IMHO

Because that is what they do and they have very little to report on, blow it out of proportion and want to keep you watching them and not changing stations. It is just human nature to like disaster and reports of disaster. Why do you think Nascar racing is so popular, crashes. Definitely not the racing. We get this all the time in FL and it is almost boring anymore to listen to the morons down here. I am not trying to say this storm is not dangerous but the media insight panic and fear into everyone which makes matters 100x worse.

I heard something funny on the news today...

Channel 6 - Action News - Cecily Tynan

She goes something to the effect - "Can you imagine what kind of damage just one cubic yard of water could do - that's 3' x 3' x 3' x 3'"

Huh?

That's one too many 3's!

I've been watching it non stop on tv and am listening to the FDNY Manhattan scanner on my iPhone. It is crazy what they're going through right now. Stay safe, Mike!!

what's scary is that the surge numbers keep revising up. If these numbers stay the same for the next 4 hours, my boat is toast.

Well I hope things start to settle down. I know the storm is slowly starting to move inland but if I'm not mistaken you still have another 30min until you reach high tide!! From the day I joined this forum your boat has been one of, if not my favorites! I have always loved your sig pic with that beast on plane and that is what I want for our next boat. The thought of her floating away or tipping over literally makes me sick to my stomach!! I wish you the best Mike...

Mike, feel for you man. In the northern chesapeake we only have wind and rain. Do not have to deal with surge on top of that! Best of luck to guys up north.
