Weather Updates East Coast??

The owner of my marina (Key Harbor) is onsite riding this thing out. I give him a ton of respect for that. His reason for staying is to adjust the lines on the boats still in the water. He asked all those still tied up to double line their boats and to leave the second line with lots more slack so that if/when the surge raises the boat he can untie/cut the shorter line as needed. I had a talk with him on Saturday begging him not to get hurt protecting my fiberglas. This is some crazy S@#T.

Three miles from beach on barganat bay tide is going down 1.5 below normal boat is not moving in slip wind is in tree tops at around 50 plus. Not even ripple on water around boat. Have boats on land in back of me blocking wind.

Same goes for Deb & I, although we live in Pittsburgh, we welcome you. I could also make the Crazy Lady available since she is still in the water at Kent Narrows , MD. Hopefully she has no wind damage by the end of this. Please IM me. Good luck to all of you in the path of the storm.

Vandal Do you know how high the water got on Rt.9 around Toms River Diner or at the state marina i'm curious all hell as to whether my boat is still on blocks?
1.5 ft below normal by 9:30am is completely opposite from what I expected. I wonder if there are some dynamics taking place where the rotation direction of the high winds are preventing the storm surge from entering the bay or even pulling it out?????

Lower Manhattan has started to flood as well as Brooklyn, Queens, and Hoboken.

The storm has shifted slightly more south. The center is looking like it will go right over Cape May.

Just took one last ride to my boat. Its up on blocks with the drive on and there is 2feet of water under manyboat already.... about another foot and my gimbal is under another 4 feet I'm floating or sinking. This stinks..

I had to wade out to the boat, and thanks to my dock mates for adding to the stay poles!

This owner is a cross road trucker, if he sees this, your boat is safe

Do you have time to bolt the drive back on?

If you can't bolt the drive back up (which probably isn't feasible now), see if you can go to Lowes/Home Depot or a plumbing supply house and get one of those expandable plumbing plugs with a wing nut on one side that is the same diameter as the portion where the driveshaft goes through. If you don't know the size, buy a few different ones and see if you can get one in there.

They are sometimes called 'Test Plugs'

They look like this -

There's no way I can even get to it. I would have to drive 15 miles witch isn't so bad but the roads to get to the marina are now closed and flooded. I would have to part a mile away and carry everything through 4 foot out water on the streets. Then work on it in 3 feet of water. So just gunna let sandy take its toll and I either have all winter to fix her.
