Starboard 5.0 alpha 220HP
Port 357 alpha 275hp
4HP Yamaha for Dinghy
weymouth fore river to eel pond falmouth.
0735-1425. 138 gallons of fuel following break in procedure varying rpms every 5 minutes or so.
Taking off from Scalisi marine.
"Temporary Bridge"
Easy ride once we got outside Boston harbor. Big rollers on the way out but once we turned south, it was beautiful. Caught the swing current in the canal so we fought it for about 2 miles but then it swung west and pushed us out.
It would have been quicker but we were boarded by the coast guard in the canal by the rail road bridge.
Went fairly quickly and both guys were asking how to get on the fire department when they got out and one of them lives down the street so we had a couple laughs and they went on their way.
Buzzards Bay was smooth but once we made the turn towards woods hole the seas turned angry, like an old man at a deli trying to send back soup.
We chewed through a ton of fuel on the last 17 miles, and vineyard sound was having fun beating the snot out of me. It's at its summer home and safe with nosey neighbors too keep an eye on it every day.
I'll be back to see it on the weekend and square some thi GA away but, no leaks, no issues except for running aground softly, I was backing off the throttles and only doing 4knts anyway but we hit soft sand outside eel pond at the inlet, it's way narrower than it has ever been. Running on fumes, I probably couldn't have made it around washburn island, I had run through all the spare fuel we brought (30gallons in Jerry cans). It after seeing another boat go through and we got in no problem. I lifted the drives and only came to a rest against soft sand so not a big deal. On the way home and going to take a nap now. I'll edit this later when I'm not so tired.
This is what was waiting for me when I arrived
