We’re finally boating Snowbirds!

Ahh so am I correct? Only because Warship 72 was communicating with Warship 78 as we entered so I’m not 100% if the Carrier was warship 78. ?

I'm pretty sure that's the Ford. Her superstructure is further aft and significantly smaller than those of the previous generation carriers. Also, the Ford was scheduled for additional sea trials this week....

We’re in Charleston on the MEGA DOCK
I think they put me there as a joke!!

How is the temperature? Still boating in short sleeves and shorts?

Will you run outside from Charleston or on the ICW?

But aren't you headed to Florida soon? :)
Each roundtrip was putting 250 hours on her, so this year we figured we'd leave her in TN for the winter and go to FL without the boat. I figure we will find out: 1. Can we survive a winter without the boat, 2. We'll find out how good are our friends are that have big boats in FL!!! LOL.

82 here today been wearing shorts since Norfolk!
Plan is to run outside next 2 days tomorrow Brunswick then maybe Jacksonville or St Augustine.

Yeah just when you are feeling like you have a big boat, you arrive on the mega dock. I have seen 100’ plus boats, looking very sad as a 160’ boat pulls in. Too funny.

agreed there’s always someone bigger. The largest one here is a Lurssen at 248’ dockhand says.

Do St. Augustine. Really nice town, cobblestone streets, good food.
Stay at Camachee Cove Marina - very nice place and can walk to town.

Tracking Joe's progress on marine traffic..

I’ve known JJCllc328 since I was 18 yrs old and haven’t seen him in years
We where upset as I missed him in Southport by 1 day!

so today’s update:
Left Charleston at 0730 amd ran to Jacksonville ended with 185 miles
We where planning on stopping in Brunswick GA but after plotting a course it was only 40 ish more mikes on our present course.
Although we where around 30 miles off shore at mid point the boat was running fantastic so we pushed through
It was so warm I hoses myself off in the cockpit as the wife took the helm for a while. IRISH guys don’t so well in the heat!!![/QUOTE]

  • Ran past this 540 Meridian this morning leaving Charleston to have him pull next to me in JAX 1-1/2 hrs later one of the guys onboard asked my wife what motors where in our boat! Hahah he says he told his brother in law to buy a faster boat next time.
