I just bought a 2013 310. Does anyone know if i need to buy a Mercury gateway and hook it up to the NEMA backbone so I can get my Raymarine to show engine data and the waypoints on the Raymarine will talk to Axius so the boat will follow a waypoint sequence by itself? Thanks!

The gateway should be your vesselview 4 (gateway is embedded in this model of vesselview).
Your Raymarine should be plugged through NMEA 0183 to the VesselView.
This link is for Garmin but it should be pretty similar with your Raymarine unit : http://static.garmin.com/pumac/Merc_Zeus-Axius_GPSMAP_Config.pdf

Once done :

1. Make a route on the Axiom
2. Launch the route on the Axiom
3. Shift the boat into gear
4. Press the « Track Waypoint » button on the Precision Pilot Pad
5. If you want the Merc AP to follow the route by himself, push the « Waypoint Sequence » button before you reach the first waypoint, and it should go from one waypoint to the other automatically.
6. If you want to acknowledge at every Waypoints then be sure « Waypoint Sequence » and « Track Waypoint »are not lite.

Please let us know if it worked.

Here are 2 short videos from Mercury that could help you :
Track Waypoint :
Waypoint Sequencing :

I think I did all those steps and I have seen those videos. I just put the boat away yesterday so I will have to try again next year. I guess the important thing I need to find out is this: I am assuming I dont need any additional hardware aside from my chart plotter, vessel view, axius and the NMEA connection. The thing that makes me think something may not be hooked up correctly is that I can’t get engine data to populate on my Raymarine so I feel like something is not set up correctly.

You probably just need to hook up those 2 with NMEA 0183 at least to send the waypoints to the Axius. From what I read it won’t work with just NMEA 2000.

Ok. Thanks. I will have to see how it is all connected. The boat is 6 years old so it would be odd that those connections wouldn’t have already been figured out. I did just upgrade the navionics software so maybe I need to do something with that setup.

I just tried mine today and it did not work either. It is hooked up and all the engine data shows up. Not sure what I am doing wrong either. The auto waypoint button does not even seem to turn on.

Hey,

Do you have a Raymarine Axiom too ?

I have the Raymarine es127 I just called Raymarine today and they said that Raymarine is not compatible with Mercury!!!

Your best bet for one compatible would be Lowarance, Simrad or B&G because Navico is now really close and compatible with Merc.. I have a SIMRAD and got back every features on it, I even removed my VV4 for a VV Link and it works really well.
