Just finished up with the new Flex buffer, Mequiars Oxidation Remover and Starbrite Polish with PTEF. Love the new buffer! So much better than the old Porter Cable. The results exceeded by expectations and I am not even that sore from the workout!

Looks fantastic…. That Starbrite is really great, I swear by it.

I did the transom yesterday by hand and that polish is so slick....
and very easy to use...:smt001

There are several variations of the Flex Buffer.......which one did you use?

Dave,

Its the XC3401 DA Orbital. I read several good articles on the unit before purchasing. The unit is much easier to handle than the PC and less vibration. I also like the variable speed trigger versus an on/off switch of the PC.

Big fan of the Starbrite as well. Goes on with ease and last all season.

Good job!
Good to hear you like the Flex as I bought the same one last fall. Haven't had an opportunity to use it a lot but it does have a nice feel to it. I like the variable trigger as well.

Looks really good. I like the look of the handle of your Flex v. the PC.

I believe I am qualified to say... she looks as good as the day she left the showroom! Well done.

Good to hear from you! She is doing well. I give her alot of TLC. How have you been and how is the FW? Hope you are enjoying it. Are you in the water yet? I am about 2-3 weeks out. Can't wait...

I'll be in towards the end of the month as well. LOVE the boat! The fact that I'm heading into season three is a real testament to that. Of course I am actively looking for what's next (aren't we all, really?) but I think I'll make it through the season without moving up. That Northstar unit still ticking?
Will send you a PM shortly...

I also am a new fan of the Starbrite - West Marine had a two for one sale so I picked it up, never having used it before. Just bought this boat, and the hull was in great shape, but I was amazed at how well it went on and came off with a basic orbital (not random) buffer that I bought years ago from Canadian Tire for about $80. It took less than 3 hours to do both sides of a 400 EC. That compares to the whole day to do my last boat (1987 Four Winns Quest 267) with Mothers or Meguires. best shine I have ever seen too!
