2002 SeaRay Sundeck 6.2L merc. Took out for a test drive and had a bit of a vibration at idle, but took off like a bat...... Then..... Overheated!!! When we were being towed back to the marina I pulled a couple spark plugs and there was water coming out.... Is this something that happens (to those unfortunates) because a boat was not winterized properly??? Or is it caused by something else? Is it repairable (via mechanic), or is it total replacement of the engine? I really love the boat, it has everything I was looking for. Please give me your best advice.

Thanx

Not good. Same problem. I broke fly wheel and Starter. ( Hydrolock) Water getting in through exhaust risers. Pulled engine. removed everthing off engine. Oil pan ect. Mechanic used Drive shaft to turn engine water shot out 20 feet. Bearings OK. Put all back runs great. Good luck

Its a longshot, But maybe they will drop the price on the boat about 6k.
That should cover the cost of a brand new 6.2
