Hey Guys,

I replaced the old house water system pump on our '89 340da with one of the new on-demand types but the pressure isn't what I think it should be and it pulsates.

I have heard a couple of comments stating that if you you use this type of pump you do not need the accumulator tank and should remove or bypass it. Is that tank causing my problems?

Thanks

I installed an accumulator tank for the purpose of smoothing out the pulsating of the pump - which it does nicely. I wouldn't think that is causing your problem. If you have an accumulator you may want to check the air pressure - too high or too low diminishes it's capabilities.

The new stile "on demand" electronic water pumps do not need an accumilator tank. the pump is variable speed the more you open the fauset the faster the motor pumps.
I have one on my boat, no accumilator tank and I have plenty of water pressure.
Dave
