Hi,

I have recently purchased a 280DA 2001 and I wonder how I activate the fresh water system so that I can take a shower or just boil a cup of tea?

I just can't figure out where to activate the pump - I have tried the 'button' in the rear above the swimplatform but I guess I am searching in the wrong place! Perhaps there is another button somewhere?

I appreciate all help I can get!

Thanks!

Thank you very much!

I have looked at the dashboard but will look tomorrow in other places around the steering wheel.

Hard to be a first boat owner! Great that there are more experienced ones around that are willing to help!

Hello again!

I have searched everywhere around the helm and also the Main DC breaker panel but I just cannot find the switch for the fresh water pump.

Attached are some photos of the parts of the boat I think the switch should be at!

Appreciate all help I can get!

i see that your ECM is different. What are the "acc 1" and "acc 2" buttons for?

Anoyone with a 2001?

I've looked at the panel inside the cabin and I see nothing that is obvious (nothing at all around 'pump' or 'freshwater').

The ACC1 and ACC2 are, I believe, the Air Condition system.

Here's a picture of the panel inside the cabin and I do not see anything that is related to fresh water.

Really appreciate everyone's help to solve this mystery but right now I feel stuck!

I just read the manual and it says that ACC1 and ACC2 equals Accessory #1 and #2 so I'll check this tomorrow.

Looks strange if the water pump should be on one of these but it makes sense to test it out!

Any more suggestions anyone?

Hi,

Thanks for all help!

It turned out that button 'ACC1' on the dash board activates the water pump.

Because it had not been used for a while it took a few minutes for the knobs to work so that I could turn the water off (guess they were dry but it improved).

Only minor-minor problem remaining is the handle in the outside wet bar that seems to miss a button for activation (or is there another secret button somewhere?).

So now I am an even happier Sea Ray owner thanks to all help I got from you!

Warm regards, Per

explain in more detail..... the water does not work from the cockpit sink?

PER - I have to ask. In the second pic, the one showing your breakers I see some sort of hose connections, what are those for? It would seem those hose connections would be right in the middle of the cockpit. Just curious, thanks...

Hi,

They are another mystery! :)

They are not for hose but I cannot figure out what they do. One thought is that they might be for ventilation of the engine compartment but I am uncertain.

The dear old manual does not give any clues at all.

Can you screw a garden hose into them? It looks like you can - from what I can see. I would venture a guess that they are a fresh-water engine flush. Follow them on the backside and see if they don't tie into the engine.

Or, the PO installed a quick-connect fitting for the fresh-water flush. Look around for some adapters that would plug in.

Thanks for all suggestions regarding water to the wet bar.
I have bought a new handle and will mount it tomorrow - my guess is that it will work but otherwise I will check for a shut off valve in the bilge!

And - great thoughts around the holes right of the Main Breaker Panel. Looks like that mystery is solved too! Fresh water flush of the engines looks like what it is!

Many thanks!

Thanks!

Yes - today I installed a new handle and now I have water in the cockpit wet bar! I did not buy a Sea Ray specific - just a generic that I found at a marine store!
