water pressure on 07 sundancer

Does anyone have info on the smartcraft gauge system on a 2007 280 sundancer with twin 4.3 mpi alpha 1's. The problem I'm having is the water pressure no one I've spoke to knows what it's supposed to run at. My starboard runs between 1.0 and 12psi my port stay at 0. The dealer has no answer for me and neither did mercury. Any info would be great.

It sounds like you have a problem with the port sensor that needs to be looked at. Also look at this thread. http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7718&highlight=pressure

My 350 MAG runs around 2-3 PSI at idle up to around 9-11 PSI at cruising speed.

the PSI on the water pump will change based on the RPM's of the motor and the speed of the boat. also over time the PSI will tend to drop as your impeller starts to wear. this is a good sign that you need to think about replacing it.

So I assume that your port engine is reading Zero PSI on the smartcraft, but your temp is staying within normal opperating range. if this is the case you probably have a bad sending unit.

Have your dealer fix it under warranty.
