Hi all. I have water accumulating outside my head at the base of my cabin steps on my 2006 SR 260. Can anyone help with determining where to start? Thank you.

Your sump box would be the 1st place to look.

AC Condensate and shower drains into this box. If it's slimed up it will over flow.

And/Or the bilge/sump pump itself is dead...... which is rare but does happen.

Thanks Little Ducky. I haven't used the shower or AC, but the bilge pump dose need to be replaced. How does just an inch of eaterin the bilge affect the cabin floor? There's also water at the aft base of the electrical panel as well.

Oooooo you might have some bigger problems then.

Windshield leaks, Window leaks, Rub rail leaks, Bow rail leaks.......

Any standing water in front of the cabin door? Drain plugged?

What year model boat? Kept in wet slip? Under cover or open to elements?

yes, all of the above and what Little Ducky said...

i had the problem in mine.. combo of portlight leaking (duct taped bottom edge and no water) and when i did run the ac, the pump wire was connected to original wire with crimp connect which failed, box was broken and leaking when full... fixed...

An inch of water under the step will likely be enough to wet the carpet. The carpet runs under the steps and water in there can wick up.

Since you have not run the shower or AC, you need to look for other sources. Portlights are a common source and I found mine were leaking. Adjusting the 3 dogs that shut each of the portlights solve it for me. There are 2 points of adjustment: the stainless screw at the base of the dog; and a black (nearly invisible) screw on the dog arm that make it fit tighter to the window. Adjust with a flat screwdriver.

I also found the hull to deck joint was separating and there was almost no sealant in the joint either. Since I've repaired this my forward bilge has been bone-dry.
