Water not flowing through engine block

I recently replaced my raw sea water pump. When starting it after the replacement there is not water flowing through the block. There is water in my flusher but doesn't appear to be moving, and I squeezed the main water hose running from the water pump to the thermostat and it felt empty. There was water coming out of the outdrive. I am worried I may have gotten a bad part and the impeller is not functioning properly. Is there anything else that could be the issue? Anything I can check before pulling the impeller again?

Any help is appreciated.

What type of raw water pump do you have? Or if you don't know the difference, what type of drive do you have?

How long did the engine run?

How do you know the water wasn't flowing through the block? Did you remove the drains?

Where was the water "coming out of the drive"?

If water is coming out of the drive then it HAS to be going in.

I ran the engine for about a minute or so. I am not sure what type of raw water pump it is, but it has a Bravo 2 drive.

I just saw the water sitting still in the flushpro and squeezed the hose going from the water pump to the thermostat and it felt like there wasn't water going through. I didn't remove the drains.

The water was coming out of the bottom of the drive, I am pretty sure it looked normal, I kind of panicked when I thought water wasn't going through so I was rushed trying check everything and turn the engine of as soon as I could.

I thought the same thing when I saw the water coming out of the drive but I wasn't sure if there is a separate system for the engine and the drive. I am a first time boat owner so I appreciate the help, I am not too knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the boat yet.

I'm not what you mean/why you're asking about "separate systems for the engine and drive"?

Hmmm... OK, this is new info about the Flushpro. If it was stuck closed, the water could backfeed out the transom plate. This also means you may have been running the newly installed impeller dry and damaged it.

Personally I don't like those things. Run the engine using a regular flush attachment. See what happens.

I was meaning a separate cooling system for both.

I took off the hose from the water pump to the thermostat and it had water pushing through it.

I took it out for a test drive that went disastrously so I'm going to make a new post explaining everything from the beginning because I have no clue what's going on.

Thanks

This is my new post detailing everything that happened and all my mistakes along the way

I’m not super knowledgeable about I/Os. So please forgive me. Lazy, could the hoses be backwards? Like on our pumps in an inboard?

Also, you’ve been running the impeller dry, it maybe shot
