Water level readout

I have a 37' 97 Sea Ray Sundancer. When filling the fresh water tank the level indicator reads 1/2 and 1/4 in yellow and empty in green. When filling, as it gets pass the 1/2 way marker the 3/4 lights up green and the full mark in green. As you consume the water the full mark will disappear just as the 3/4 mark but not the 1/2 and 1/4 markers.
The way I think it should work is that when it is empty, it should just read empty. As it is filled, it should start to indicate the levels in green(ex. 1/4,1/2,3/4 and full) Can someone please enlighten me

It should read as you state in your second paragraph. Sounds like you have some sticky float switches.

Thanks for the tip. I am going to take the sending unit out and put it in a five gallon bucket so I can better test it.
