Water leaking Bravo III

I am sure, I am not the only one! It seems a Bravo III problem.
I have water coming in bilge from the steering rod (shaft).
-3 Gallon in 24 hrs-
What is the solution? My technician said, the engines and transom must be removed, just to change a little shaft seal
