Because Sea Ray decided to drain everything on the 270 to the bilge, we usually have some water in there. But this season, it seems like we have had more than usual. Saturday morning I decide to climb into the engine compartment to find the cause. Our boat had been put in and driven to the dock about 1/2 hour before I started. Sure enough, I find a drip coming from the inboard portion of the port exhuast outlet on the transom assembly. First thought was a leaking bellows. I decided to go out anyway. When I lifted the engine hatch to track down a rattle (that's in another thread) I noticed a trickle running down the same outlet. There is a hose that connects the transom exhaust outlet to the Corsa assembly. So I grab a screw driver and tighten the clamps and sure enough they were loose. It took 7 - 8 full turns of the screw driver to tighten them up. I checked again Sunday morning, and the bilge had the same amount on water as it did Saturday night (Some water sits just out of reach of the bilge pump intake). I ran the engine, and no water came from the exhaust hose. I then went through and tightened all of the clamps and found several that were loose. Hopefully this fixes the problem. Has anyone else had this happen?
