I am getting water in the emergency sump area on my 2005 260DA around the shower sump. The shower sump pump was replaced a few months ago when this area collected water and soaked out to carpet just forward of the step. Failure of this pump was discovered when A/C condensate filled the sump and it overflowed. Pump was replaced and all connected hoses were checked. This repair was apparently successful as the area stayed bone dry for 4 months with heavy A/C use. The sump box has inlets from the shower, the A/C condensate and another marked "drain" that goes out of site to the starboard and aft under the floor to the aft cabin. I have completely dried all water from the sump box and left the A/C off trying to identify the source to no avail. The box stays dry. After an hour or so a small amount of water will appear outside the box. I have attempted to feel the hoses (three inlets and the outlet) to see if water is running down one of those hoses from their source with no luck. At the same time I have a damp spot in the carpet forward of the step but the carpet is not wet next to the step and water is not "wicking" thru the carpet. I have check the galley and head sink water feeds and drain hoses and they are all dry. The owners manual show the fresh water tank to be in the engine compartment but it is not there. Since the fill opening for water is on the bow deck I am thinking that the water tank on my boat is forward somewhere but I can't find it.
Is there anyone who knows where the water tank is and where the line runs. Since I have eliiminated (or so I think) all other sources of water coming to that area I am thinking that the water feed line from the tank is leaking somewhere and running inside the hull to this lower area. Sorry for the long post but I didn't want to waste anyone's time suggesting some of many things I have done.

Your fresh water tank is most likely in the bow, under the cushion area, as my 2006 270AJ's is there.

Owner's manual... you're either looking at the manual for a '99-'04 260DA or the owner's manual you have has a misprint - possibly due to a change made to how they were built after the manual was printed, as well. If your fill is at the bow, the tank is under the forward section of the v-berth.

Does this happen when it's NOT raining? How about with/without the water system turned on/pressurized? Try relieving the pressure.

There are no lines under the center of the floor in the cabin. They are run along the sides of the boat. Does your model have a carpeted panel directly under the head door? Remove that - it may help you.

same problem in my 260.. i now tape the bottom of my portlights and no more water. i need to replace the seals on the portlights... seems the water gets in and runs down the hull to the under stair sump...and then to carpet

I had this before as well.

It's either the point lights or the rub rail seem. Aka the hull joint.

Waiting to here back from OP... from the original post, it sort of sounds like "rain" was not involved in the leaking.

Fresh water tank is "C" top left of pic ...3rd bubble down if it is a bit blurry
