Hello,
Does anyone here have any recommendation for a good service mechanic in the Oakland, CA area? I have a 340DA that have
developed a water heater leak. Not sure if it is just the fitting or if the whole unit needs replacing. As you all may know, it is quite a tight squeeze in a 340 engine bilge. I attempted just removing the drain spigot fitting where the leak seem to be coming from but had to give up. Not too mechanically inclined. :smt100
Thanks for any tips.

I just replaced the water heater on my 2000 340DA and it wasn't too bad of a job.

Thanks for the reassurance !

I actually had my brother help me bypass the water heater
temporarily while I'm planning my next move.
I was wondering, how did you gain access to the screws
holding down the heater housing on the far end?
I know the water pump on top of the heater has to be removed.

Any tips on the job will be greatly appreciated.

i was able to access the screws after removing the pump. used a battery power screw gun to remove them. there aren't any screws on the hullside of the heater
