Water continues to get in my fuel tank. I had it drained three times. I changed my gas cap. But the water still acculmilates in the tang a substantial amount. I mean gallons

Yes it is kept in a secure area.

I had the same issue with one of my earlier boats and traced it to the gas filler vent. Granted it was a smaller boat (low freeboard) and was often in rough water so would take a lot of waves splashing up in that area. If you think about it the only openings are the cap, the vent and right at where the sender goes in to the gas tank inside the bilge. Couldn't be that much water getting in at the bilge area and you said you changed the cap so only other thing I can think of is the vent. Mine was actually turned so the opening/screen was facing forward allowing water to go in. Make sure also the cap has a good o-ring seal on it. Hope that helps....

Thanks Ron G I will have my mechanic check it out.

you dont have a fuel cooler on that engine do you? sometimes they eat out allowing water in fuel.
