Can anyone tell me if they have used Watco Teak Oil, the one step finish and what kind of luck they have had with it...I'm looking to put this on a new teak floor in the salon...thanks, Bob

On my 42' sailboat I had cockpit grates and it was a PIA to do and every other year they would have to be sanded down to bare wood because of the accumulated dirt. I tried a number of different teak oils same result. Any teak oil will take a bit of time to dry and more importantly will attract dirt. I'd suggest a product like SEMCO which is not an oil, it's a sealer. A bit pricey but a quart will go a lot further than a qt of teak oil.

I now use the Semco on my teak outdoor furniture and it works great.

I second the Semco recommendation. I did a three step clean, brighten and seal on my cockpit.

That looks like some beautiful wood, if I can get mine to look that way I shall be very happy...thanks for the picture and reply, it helps a lot...as I mentioned to the other gentleman, I shall do some research on SEMCO...Bob

Looks phenomenal I haven’t use this product in many years but when I did it always had a bit of an orange tint to it I guess this product has come along way
It comes in 2 -3 colors (tints). I've used the transparent and the gold tones. Neither one have an orange tint to them.

Thank you for your reply, that is good to know...I do not want orange

Definitely not varnish finish - but then neither will teak oil. I would probably describe it more like if you had a stain finish. In other words think of it just wiped on a non pigmented stain (kinda of satin type).

thank you, this has been a great help...Bob

That floor looks great ... Does it stay like that?... If so how long and can you just re-coat ?

First time using Semco... I will report back on the durability.
