waste tank level

On a 1998 400 DB how is the waste level determined, my reading only goes to 1/2 even when full, also is there a over fill line on the top of the tank.

The sensors gets cruded up and often don’t show all the levels. Search the site for Carters Poopy Powder and you will get a recipe for an additive you can use to encourage black water digestion. It often cleans up the sensors and helps display your level more accurately. As far as over full, you run the risk of having skanky fluid overflow into your tank vent and causing a stink, forcing early replacement of your vent filter.

The filter needs changed anyway, got to get some charcoal and cut it open and get that rigged up but the level indicater read 1/2 full and flushed both toilets and noticed the rear bilge pump come on so went into bilge to investicate and notice water leaking from cap on top of waste tank which told me tank was full.So had that mess to clean up, pumped out tank and ran clean water thru tank a couple of times and added noflex so hope it cleans it up.Figured out a hose I thought was a over flow for tank was a old drain line for ice maker that ran up behind waste tank as I knew there shouldn't be a over flow line on it but you can never tell what PO's might due.

If you have access, fill the tank with ice and water and take the boat for a ride. The ice moving around will help clean the tank. Then use NoFlex as your holding tank chemical (no blue stuff).
