Washington fuel road tax refund for boaters

We boat in Washington for a month each fall. We burn about 500 gallons. At the gas docks it I think it said fuel is dyed. In BC this means that there is no road tax. Is this the same in Washington.

At all the fuel docks I have bought from we're paying the excise tax. I believe the dyed fuel is diesel might be wrong.

Dyed diesel is fuel with red dye added to show there are no federal or state fuel taxes paid. Other industry names for dyed diesel are: marked fuel, farm fuel, “red dyed” diesel.
[h=3]Common uses[/h]Common uses of dyed diesel are non-highway farming equipment, construction equipment, generators, and marine vessels.

Thanks for the reminder. I have the receipts, just have not sent them in. I am registered with the state to get my road tax back... it does add up...

Does anyone know if the road tax is reclaimable in Ontario?

Not anymore. Apparently it was 25yrs ago, until the politicians realized that they could take it away and only the boaters would protest. We don't represent a large enough portion of the voting public to be any kind of threat come re-election time.:smt013

Ontario used to give you road tax back. last I was told it is not called road tax called Enviroment tax and applies to all fuel sales.

A good reminder indeed!

I just received my check on Monday for the 2nd half of 2011 $66.03. I had a question and called the state while talking to him I mentioned at least the refund helps as prices go higher to my surprise he said it's calculated at average price per gallon on a diminishing scale if gas hits $5.04 a gallon the refund will be ZERO $4.99 it's .01 cent ruined my day.
Hadn't looked at your site in a while read your story about the cost of paying attention leaving the cell phone off you are very lucky it didn't sink it's great to know there are so many boaters ready to help could have been a real disaster.

Sounds like Todd might be getting a new business going hope it works out for him. He's always been very helpful on the forums with sound well thought out answers.
