Hi all,
this will be my first sea ray cruiser, anything i should watch out for in general?
worried of mechanical conditions for those years

i want to go out 30 miles offshore and fish for the weekend

found a couple of deals for 24' sundancer 245 1984 under 10k

thanks for any info

Pull a screw from the trim tabs (just make sure you have approval first and reseal it when you put it back in.) and see if the hole is dry. Wet transoms are one of the things to watch out for along with stringer integrity.

wow - never thought of that. great idea:smt038

Great tip.... I'll see if he will let me do that. He has all maintenance records and replaced the batteries every year. (Hes a retired aircraft mechanic, so understands maintenance) anything else i can check without "destroying" things?
I'm used to checking small ski and bass boats, so this seems different.
I'm really thinking of purchasing this craft but scared of getting a lemon.
Also there is no electronics so if you guys know best budjetary depth/ fish finder and gps please let me know.
Oh and i would need some sort of radio to shore

Thanks for the help and sorry i'm not familiar with this territory, more of a lake guy...lol

hopefully i can return the favor as I learn
