wantagh to west hampton - help

I was interested in doing this trip, has anybody done this before? best way to go, bay or ocean? how long does it take? how much gas? etc

I have done the trip from lindenhurst... Take the inside for 2 hours from this pont.
As far as gas your boat burns 20 gallons per hour so 40 gallons?
