Want to go for a boat ride?

It's a dangerous thing to ask me for a boating video. You'll probably get a lot more than you bargained for! :smt043
(I've posted this one before, but I think it's good enough to warrant a re-run.

Very cool video. Love all the local shots of our home waters.

Not familiar with "poor mans cove". That looked like the southwest corner of Anchor Bay? Was that the barge that the boat ran into at speed last year? We don't hang up in that area as a rule. We're usually down in the southwest end of LSC. Did make it to muskamoot a couple of times last summer. I'm familiar with the gas dock on Harsens that was in your year in review video. Where's your home port?

Thanks guys. Summer videos sure help with winter cabin fever!

Poormans, yes S/W corner of Anchor Bay. Right in front of MacRays. Right here:

The map image above does show a barge. I don't think that's where it was during the accident (but not far off), but wouldn't surprised if it is the same barge. How tragic that whole thing was!

The barge in my video was there just for launching the Belle Maer/MacRay fireworks. They put on a great show! If you've never been, it's worthwhile. Several of us raft-up overnight. Always room for more!

Home port is Ecorse. Half way between LSC and Erie, and more importantly, a half hour from home. The southern half of the Detroit River is really nice. Nothing like the acres and acres of waste deep, sandy bottom on LSC, but still nice.

AwayPoint,

I've only been as far south as the bridge (or is that west?) by water. How's the trip past Zug Island? Are there many restaurants to visit via water down that way?

We don't overnight on ours, as it's a bit small for the 4 of us. Maybe we could hook up for some day stuff? RedBull Air Races? We've gone the past two years (guys only - Dads & sons), and thoroughly enjoy seeing the planes.

Portofino's & Pier 500 are really the only two I know of.

My favorite place to eat is BBQing on our boat!

No problem boating past the industrial areas south of the bridge. It's not that long of a stretch before it gets nice.

Meeting up sometime sounds good. Can't have too many boating friends!

Here is one when Lake Erie was amazingly nice!
