i am interested in putting a wakeboard tower on my 185 sport. does anyone have any info on universal towers? brands? or factory towers? thanks

I just put a MT1 (MonsterTower) on my 185 sport. Looks fantastic and pretty straight forward to put on. I did a ton of research and kept coming back to the Monster Towers. They run specials all the time, so keep an eye on their site. When I got mine it was a week long sale for $200 off.

Make sure you have at least 2 other adults to help put it on though. It requires a lot of hands to keep that thing from swinging all around while its being installed.

I'll add another vote for the MonsterTower MT1. I put one on my 2005 185 Sport. It went on easy and is very strong, looks great too. MonsterTower's partner company (Xtreme Tower Products) makes the OEM towers for Sea Ray but that option is a lot more expensive. The MT1 is a great option. I was able to modify the stock bimini to fit underneath but haven't been on the water yet to try that out.

is there any better towers? or anything that is better than normal?
This tower will never come loose...or so they claim.
No one else claims this and all tell you that you can not pull tubes with their tower or it voids their warranty. The pro X is desigend to take a lot of punishment.

sorry spelling all over the show. it should say "especially as the struts"

I put a aerial assault tower on my 190 and the install was pretty basic. My tower also has the supports that follow the windshield. Do not buy any tower without the extra supports. If you try and go cheap you WILL regret it. My son picked up one with the two vertical poles and had alot of flex. The ride sucked.

Good luck
