I really wish I bought my 185 Sport with the factory wakeboard tower. I want to add one now.

Does anyone have an idea where I can buy the factory one online? I asked my local MM and he said they were 4K. Not sure if he was bs'in. Kind of steep if you ask me.

I don't know this for fact, but I think I remember hearing that searay wouldn't allow their tower to be installed aftermarket, something about extra glass in the mounting areas. As I said I don't know if this is fact or not, but there are many aftermarket towers available, the only thing I'm not sure about is how you would get to the back side of the front mounting point on each side to install the backing, washers and nuts. The rear mounting points are easily accessable.

My info may have come from someone talking out their behind. Still, the way the factory tower attaches it seems like you would have to cut access holes behind the bow seats on either side to access the mounting points.

Sweet Xscape....

The tower that Sea Ray uses is made by a company called XTP... They specifically worked with Sea Ray to design the tower (or towers) for the line-up of boats they offer a tower for. I bought my 195 with the "Wakeboard" package so the tower was already on my boat when I got it.... $4000.00 for the tower? Ridiculous! That's obsurd!

I have done ALOT of wakeboarding behind my boat and I have to say, the tower works, but..... There's alot of "shake".... I wish it were sturdier.

There are several tower companies that offer after market towers and accessories well below 4 grand.... And I already saw one of the best listed in this thread....

Monster Tower.... They offer a great, super stiff, fits-every-boat-out-there tower, for about $1000.00... That leaves you a WHOLE LOT OF MONEY for accessories such as tower speakers, wakeboard racks, lights, mirror arm, etc.... And Monster Tower offers all of these accessories for their towers.....

If you do decide to go with a tower, yes, make sure you reinforce the fiberglass beneath where the feet of the tower will attach to your boat......

Just for the record.... I don't work for Monster Towers.... It may sound like it, but no, I don't.... I have ridden behind several towers in my day and the Monster Tower was my best "pull" by far.... Sturdy, no "shake", chatter free, and the easiest to install! Should I ever have to replace the tower on my boat it will be a Monster....

Hope this helps you out!

purchased a tower from these guys a few years ago for my other boat.

good price, good built quality, and good customer service.

would still have it BUT a small tornado/cyclone hit my boat house crushing the tower and doing a good amount of damage to the boat.

The factor tower for Searay boats can be foound at http://www.xtremetowers.com THey have partnered with Monster Tower, but if you go to this site you can see if they make the tower for your boat. I just orded one for my 2004 240SD from Marine Max Las Vegas installed for about $2800. You can buy the racks, lights and speakers at their site for 1/2 the price at the dealership.
