Over the winter I want to do a wake board tower. I've seen so many online, Big Air, Monster, Aerial etc.. I'm looking for a good quality tower without breaking the bank. I'm about 195 lbs. so it's gonna have to be strong. Looking for some advice from some of you that have or have had towers and what's good and what I should look for.

thanks in advance..

Also, install doesn't look too bad. Have any of you installed one?

I ordered my 185 with the tower, but it was made by a company called Xtreme towers, which I think was later bought by Monster. You might try looking into them just so you could get the OEM tower which you know would fit nicely. It's also nice in that it follows the contours of the side of the windshield, makes it look "nice." Not sure how it would compare pricewise though.

I had a factory tower on my 195 sport it was an extreme tower I believe. Only issue I had was the welds cracked on the bottom beams. Was out of warranty at that time and they still sent me new ones. Had to remove the whole tower to replace. Was not that bad at all to reinstall. Seems like it would be easy to install

installed a monster mtk tower on my 190 sport. Install wasnt toohard as long as you have someone to help. I like the forward facing tower and it hasnt had any issues. Solid as can be

Will Xtreme sell directly to a consumer? When I was looking for OEM swivel racks and contacted them, they said I had to go through Sea Ray (my dealer). The price was off the charts, I think $900 each - and that was *barely* over the dealer cost. NUTS.

Do you guys have pics of your boats with towers? I'm having a hell of a time deciding what I want. I want something that I can also mount the tube on, if I can get that thing out of the way I'd be real happy..

Not to turn the conversation away from the tower, which I'm interested in, but for the tube problem, go buy something similar to:
http://www.overtons.com/modperl/pro.../Deflator-Pump&i=44209&aID=600G7&merchID=4006
I don't have the above, but like it and worth the extra 10 bucks compared to mine (Walmart purchased for $15) that only pumps, not deflates. It only takes a few minutes to pump the 2 person tube, and a little bit more to take it back down (Boston valve). When done with it i fold it up and place it deep on the starboard side (access from the engine compartment). Way easier than having to deal with it pumped all the time, having to strap it down, and it flapping in the wind down the lake.

If this is not what you meant by mount... I have the understanding, or have read other places that the towers were not built to pull a tube.

I have the one from Walmart too, works good. Inflates pretty quick. I would like to leave it inflated and get it out of the way. I thought about strapping it to the Bimini but I don't think the poles are strong enough

I have the factory bimini and would defiantly not put any tube on top or strap it down as the aluminum poles and cover is way too expensive to risk the weight or air deflection of a tube strapped to it.

At least the speeds that i cruse down a lake (2.8-3.2K rpm, trimmed out).
