We are visiting Ft. Lauderdale and of may. We were looking to rent a boat and explore, just a bow rider for the day. This is our first time on the east coast. Does anybody have recommendations of what we should do in the area? anything that should not be missed? beaches, sandbars etc.

Thanks!

In ft lauderdale, there are rental boats near Bahia Mar (near the jungle queen) - Lake Sylvia or the "triangle" near the entrance to the new river are typical hangouts - there is also john u lloyd park - shooters or flip flops are north on the icw - about 10 miles south on the icw is haulover sandbar - you could rent a boat down there and get easier access to south beach or key biscayne - try boatsetter for rentals as well.....when exactly is your trip? I think Ill be there 5/26-5/30 taking delivery of my new cc and ill definately be out on the water

You will find plenty to do just cruising the ICW. Be carefull on weekends as it is like playing on the freeway.

PM me your dates if I am in town and on the water maybe we can meet up.

south to the sand bars at Baker Haulover (inside the inlet).

North to a few miles from the big bridge, lots of places to stop.

Take a trip up New River, lots of places to stop.
