Finally getting a chance to take a vacation & the admiral wants to float down to Virginia Beach, we would leave from Kent Narrows. Has anyone made the trip? How long did it take? I am thinking two days. Thanks for any help

We run up to Kent Narrows from Deltaville at 18kn in 4 hours +- and run from Deltaville down to Rudy's Inlet which is where you want to go if you want to hit the beach area in a little of 3.5 hours +- so it's an easy trip in one day weather and sea's dependant. You can walk from Rudy's up to the Beach Board walk in 5 minutes so its a good location IOHO. As you can see we run it in a 420AC as well.

Let me know how the trip works out, we are talking of doing it in the opposite direction, Jamestown to Kent

Great information, we were thinking of making it a two day trip possibly stopping at Smith Island or the Solomons. We just started boating last June, enjoy the he!! of it, never been in open water. Is Rudy's Inlet pretty tame in decent weather? Do you all recommend any marina? I was looking on Active Captain, looks little shallow around Deltaville.

The trip is about 150 miles.

You have your choice of 2 different inlets in Virginia Beach:
Rudee Inlet
Lynnhaven Inlet

Rudee Inlet is at the oceanfront as John said and within walking distance of the marinas.

Stops along the way:
Solomon's Island - Spring Cove Marina
Kinsale - Port Kinsale Marina

I just ran to Solomon's last weekend in 4.5 hours from Lynnhaven Inlet at 23 - 24 knots.
