like many members I have been using '303 Aerospace Protectant' on my boat upholstery and it has done a good job....but it is not a cleaner so I have to take an extra step and clean the vinyl before applying the 303....

however recently I started using 'Meguiar's 57' vinyl/rubber cleaner and protector and I found it to do an excellent job both cleaning and protecting the vinyl in one step....it brings back the color of the vinyl as well.....I wiped my black rocker switches on the dash and steering wheel which were a faded black color from the sun's UV rays with the product and was pleasantly surprised how well it brought back the deep black color....it also leaves the vinyl soft and pliable with just a dull shine that is not slippery or sticky.....

I was so impressed on how well it did on the boat vinyl that I tried it on my vinyl roll-up truck bed cover and bumper caps and dash and other vinyl trim and I am really impressed with the results...

I just thought I would pass this experience on in case others want to also give it a try....I have been using Meguiar's car products since I was a teenager and have also been using their marine products on all my boats....all of their products I have used I have been impressed with....

I'll check it out. Thanks Cliff

Like you, I have always used the 303 Protectant and cleaned before applying. I will give this a shot as well.

So will this get rid of the little dark spots that appear on the vinyl while under a cover?

those are probably spider poop spots.....I have not tried this product on those yet since the spiders are just now starting to crawl onto the boat in this area....if/when I get a chance to try the cleaner/protectant on spider poop i'll try to remember to report back....

Someone explain to me how all these spiders get on my boat. I still dont understand

around our marina the spiders sit at the edge of where ever they are hanging out and they send out "fishing lines' .
meaning they spin out a thread of web that just blows in the breeze, when it gets long enough and grabs hold of something at the end they then attach the spun end to where they were sitting and then venture out on the line they produced, mean while spinning another lifeline from where they came. If they get lucky your boat is at the other end.

very interesting to see how "smart" they are.
