Video of Boat Cruise into Annapolis, MD

WTH is that pole doing out there at 36secs.?.:wow:.

Jon,
Great Video - Hope to head to Annapolis this year, finally. Your video gave me some good insight, from the water, that I have only envisioned in my head from land.
thanks.
Please post some more. I need to look at one of those GoPro.

Joe,
It was prettey quiet during the video, usually the entire wall on Ego Alley is full of boats which could get hairy depending on wind and clueless boaters.

Great video and you happened to pick the tune that's one of my favorite boating songs.

How long a trip does that video represent: Time? Mileage?

Great Video! Ideas for my Bahamas run this year? Thanks for posting, JC

Jon neat video thanks for fast forward speed! I laughed at your boat taking in wakes vs those you passed. Really stable mount on your camera is there image stabilization on the gopro? Looks like fun just splashed this week and spent all day today getting her ready. Hope to be out there soon. Wondering about a trip to Annapolis some time where would you recommend staying?

This video represents roughly 20 minutes, only 6 miles. Most of this was filmed at a no wake cruise. Normally dock to dock to Annapolis it's 24 miles and takes 45-50 minutes. For some reason the GoPro stopped recording and I did not get footage of the bay.

Tom, not sure if the GoPro has a built in stabilizer, Im sure it does. You should have a great weekend for boating.
Downtown Annapolis has many places to stay, I will break it down;
-Ego Alley (1) the wall or (2) slips. Both are first come first served. You can make reservations on the wall opposite side of the Harbor Master's office. Its a dollar more per foot. The slips are a little more quiet compared to the wall, you get lots of people talking to you and the night life can get a little crazy depending on the occasion. If you want excitement this is your best bet.
-Mooring balls in harbor. They are great when its not choppy, it can get rocky depending on winds.
-Mooring balls in the back of Spa Creek. Very quiet and always calm. This is where we stayed last weekend when shooting this video.
-Annapolis Yacht Basin. The marina is right there but just like the harbor it can get rough.

The Annapolis water taxi is great, they will pick you up at your boat if cruising without a tender.

I would assume it stopped recording because the battery went dead. Go Pro's use battery super quick and the reason they have a snap on battery pack. When I do these types of videos I use the time lapse mode , photo every 2 seconds, and then piece then together. Makes the battery last much much longer. But I do like the smooth image flow.
