Venture 37 steering delay

all i know is the boat sat for over a year without being used

They are great boats..... I like the simplicity of the drives and the space outboards create. Sea Ray did a good job on that boat of matching the hull to the propulsion system....it is a very quiet boat.

One thing that you mentioned was that it had a joystick control. Based on the manual that appears only for the bow thruster. Is that correct?

If you don’t have joystick steering, then there is no programming or anything programmable.

Sometimes people want to fix something that they are more comfortable in fixing even though it isn't a problem. I had a slipmate the other day that thought his engine needed Seafoam because he wasn't getting on plane. The bottom of his boat looked like a Chia pet on MiracleGro so the engine was wasn't the problem. Still he had used Seafoam before in his truck and was comfortable with it.

In this case....I have given the OP the manuals and they clearly show there are no electronics involved in the Verado steering other than power to the pump and the Verado harnesses. The Verado manual details how to bleed the pump which is not a trivial exercise if you haven't done it before. Sometimes it is just easier to hire someone to come over and bleed the system.
