Vector Imaging

Hey he's an artist. Don't they get a nod for their abstract view of life. LOL
Really, why is it that anything that is so superior as his craftsmanship is reliant on such a poor personality? I have never used him though I planned to this spring for my dash panels not a big order but still I want them in a timely fashion.

They're just being mean. I have my own theorys on the most recent delays....

A few months ago Scott was abducted by aliens from the
planet Vectron ( A small planet hidden by Uranus) Apparently they had
hired Scott to make some panels for their spaceship a long time ago. These
Vectronians are not known to be a very patient people, so after getting
tired of waiting, "beamed" Scotty and his highly advanced panel
making device up to their spaceship. After the customary poking and
probing he was forced to stay there until his work was complete. Still
"ticked off" about having to wait so long they beamed Scotty back down
... FACE FIRST! [see picture] And to make matters worse, he was
paid in Veckles! Now, unable to pay his suppliers in "Veckles", he
can't get the materials he needs to finish the rest of his orders here
on Earth.

"And to make matters worse, he was paid in Veckles!" :smt043:smt043:lol: Classic!

Look, let's give this one a rest. Scott clearly has problems, he also has done well for many of us, and not so well for others. But no one here has any definitive information as to where he is, or isn't. Given the fervor with which he defended his name the last time around, the fact he is silent now says a lot. Given that it seems his home was foreclosed last August, there is a good possibility he is living out of his car (my supposition based on no information other than what I have read). So let's just back off, and hopefully he will resurface and make good on his obligations.

I agree with Henry's post and would add I feel bad for those who have been put in a bad spot or Scott has taken money and parts from with nothing to show for it. I also feel bad for Scott as he once did such a good job of product and customer service that he developed a loyal following, something caused the wheels to fall off the wagon. So I concur, let's give it a break for a while.

The only people that I feel bad for are those who have gotten screwed over by Scott. Out of respect for those members I will also let this one rest. The message is out there, on this forum and others. However, when he comes back on here with his barrage of chronic lies and excuses blaming everyone else for his situations, well then.... "I'll be back"

Since I could not get a whole to Scott, I am having a panel made by tecnographic. I feel for Scott and what ever issues the man is having in is life. I wish him all the luck. The delays and the mistakes he made with my panels were all fixed. When you run a business......................communication is everything! With that said and alone with Lord Farringdon,MonacoMike,Bridog and others I will like to put this one to rest.

He has got my old dash panels, but I believe I will recover my money. All I am asking him to do is to return my dash panels.

Don't really care about how "great" he was. He is screwing me over and does not have the decency to return my calls, my emails or my property.

Defend him all you want, but have him mislead you and then ignore you. Perhaps you would feel differently.

Can someone local just find this guy already?? is he in jail or did he just run with our money?? I called the Fall River police department they said I can file charges against him, but it has to go through my local police department. I dont even care about the money at this point, he held up a big job at my shop because we were waiting on his product.

I was one of the fortunate that, after numerous excuses, finally did receive my panel from Vector Imaging but I will not purchase from him again. Here is a condensed version of my experience (I have left out some of the drama to help shorten the post).

I needed a panel for my '83 Seville I am restoring and came across Vector Imaging's website. Read a couple of forums including CSR saying he did great work. Sent an email in early October and got a response back right away offering a "special deal" today only of free freight and $50.00 off if I paid through Paypal by 4:00 p.m. He promised the panel would be finished in 2 weeks after he received my original to trace. I sent the original right away via UPS and confirmed he received it 2 days later.

3 weeks later no panel, sent an email. Response: he had been gone to take care of his mother but was now back and would finish it right away. A week later no panel, sent another email. Response: his mother died a couple of weeks prior and he was still out of town taking care of her affairs but would be returning in a day or so and would get it done right away (note that the week prior he said he was home but this week he said he had been gone for 2 weeks).

The day before Thanksgiving he calls and tells me he is now getting to my panel and how happy I am going to be with it and he is just finishing up the tracing (thought that was done a few weeks ago) and he would send the panel Friday or Saturday. He did email me the artwork immediately after the call and I responded with approval the same day.

End of the following week, no panel and I send another email. Response: the post office must have lost it I will cut another right away and send it this afternoon (if he really sent it the normal response would be to wait a few more days to see if the USPS delivers).

Another week, no panel and I send another email. Response: I swear my shipping guy sent it but I can't find the paperwork. The post office is screwing me, they're breaking my panels, you can't believe how much this is costing me, yours must have got lost in the mail again, I will send another right away. I then request he send it UPS and email me the tracking number so I could verify shipment. Response: UPS has screwed him and he doesn't have an account with them anymore and won't ship with them, he has already lost money because the post office ruins all his panels, it's too expensive to send via insured delivery confirmation.

I give him one more week, no panel. I email him and request a refund and request he return my original panel. Response: he can't afford to give a refund and he doesn't have my old panel, it was packed with the new one that the USPS lost. Of course now I am beyond the Paypal dispute time limit and they won't do anything. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and they immediately start the procedure and charge back Paypal.

Paypal freezes his account and now the emails and phone calls start coming from Mr. Cambra. He insinuates that I'm the bad guy and he can't use his account to pay his suppliers and now can't fill his orders. He requests I send him cash because it will take 90 days before they resolve the dispute. My response: send me the panel and I will stop the dispute. Since you claim you have sent me 3 separate panels via USPS, I will pay the freight. I emailed him a pre-paid UPS label to ship the panel so I could verify if the package was shipped.

Well the panel finally did come and I closed the dispute but then he calls and says Paypal won't unfreeze his account until the credit card company refunds Paypal and that could take 60 days and I need to get this resolved right away because I have a panel he did not get paid for. Mr. Cambra, you created the situation, I closed the dispute and if it takes 60 days for you to get things resolved with Paypal that is your issue not mine. Never heard anything again from him.

After finally receiving the panel, the look and quality was better than I expected. However, his ongoing excuses did not fit the timeline of his previous responses and were not logical. The obvious assumption is the guy was lying and gives a perception with the customer that they are being ripped off.

After reading the recent complaints on various forums, I think this gentleman has good intentions but has little sense of organization and no operating capital. He is simply trying to collect enough advance money from orders to live on and "robs Peter to pay Paul" until he collects enough cash to buy some material and finish an order for whoever is waiting in line that is the "squeakiest wheel".

Since it now appears he has dropped off the radar, his cash flow has probably dwindled to the point he can't recover and/or suppliers have cut him off. Suggest anyone still waiting for delivery beyond the original promised date to file a dispute with Paypal if you are within the 45 day deadline or the better alternative, if you fund Paypal with your credit card, dispute the charge with your credit card company.

By the way, I never did receive any of the 3 separate shipments of panels he claimed must have got lost in the mail.

This Thread is a little confusing.
From what I read here there is an issue yet he is still listed as a CSR Vendor. When you do a google search The CSR Vendor thread shows up and does not indicate any issues with this vendor. Perhaps that should be corrected. If members have had verified issues with vendors then the vendor should be removed from the CSR Vendor list and posts so no one else uses the vendor thinking incorrectly they are CSR approved.

I agree whole heartedly. It's probably time he be removed from that list as to not lead any newb's down the wrong path in the future. Admin?

Mike, I looked at your site. Question for you. Can you do panels with engraving to accommodate back lighting?

Yes, but they do require a bit more coordination and require that each illuminated area have little windows (for lack of a better term) that are cut in the aluminum panel to let the lighting shine through. This happens after the vacuum bag lamination, and then when these small "windows" are cut through the aluminum, a slightly larger area cut through burl for the legend itself to be bonded in. This legend is then reverse engraved and then is bonded in itself. It's more time consuming ($$) than regular front engraved panels but turns out very nicely.

Shoot me an email: somesailor@gmail.com and I can explain a bit more if you're interested.

Hello, I have something to add to this thread that may serve as a conclusion.

FP Marine distributed these panel sets for Vector Imaging a few years ago. The logistics did not work out well so we decided not to carry the panels any longer. About 2 months ago Scott called me and asked if I would be interested in purchasing the intellectual property owned by Vector Imaging. We came to an agreement and we will soon be producing the same quality product that Scott produced for many years. Unfortunately Scott's personal issues are significant, and they consumed his business.

Many of you know us as a strong reputable company with the resources to greatly expand the availability of this product. We have purchased a brand new laser engraving machine which should arrive in the second week of May. I do not want to turn this into a sales pitch, I just wanted to address the high level of anxiety that is present on all of the boating forums.

Thank you all for your support,

Ken Gearin
