I'm going to be painting the bottom before it gets put indoors this fall. My question is the color. My hull sides are blue. Do I go with the blue vc17m or black? It looks like it has black now. I'm thinking blue would be better if it's not light blue. Any experience?

I have the blue on my white / navy blue hulled boat and am happy with it. It goes on copper and stays copper until a few weeks into the season, when the water line gets wet.

If you decide blue let me know...I have 2 quarts in the garage I am going to be parting with...

Thanks for the reply and offer. I called the storage company that had done the bottom paint for the previous owner. Come to find out, original was used which turns to a slate color. Talked to Interlux yesterday as well and they indicated it's better to stay with the color that's on it. Based on that, I'll be going with "original".

Can't argue that. I've heard VC17 is VERY finicky when you try to go with something else...to the point you need to sand it off. I stuck with exactly what is on there and would recommend you do the same. Good call!
