Beautiful scenery and pictures! Do you boat year round, or put it away in winter months?

Some of the more hardy will boat all year round  - normally I leave the boat in the water and ready to go any time and wil take it out if it is nice enough (we have a 55 limit). It just so happens this year we will be up on the hard for 4 months to get work done and beta use we are in SoCal longer this winter.

Reason for question, I'm ready to buy 40DA and moor in Victoria. I plan to boat year round, and was surprised to read about the need to winterized. I live in Medicine Hat, so not close enough to get to it with cold temps coming in. Do I need to worry about winterizing in Victoria in your opinion?

Such a great area. Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories.

If it is in the water and reasonably sheltered from wind I would say minimum wintetizing, if you pull it onto the hard I would do the whole winterizing process.

I usually blow out all potable water from the system with an air compressor and a $3 adapter on the dock water line, throw some pink in the head, and put a certified 500w engine heater in the ER, block the ER air vents with rags and you should be good. Of course isolate electricals, close through hulls, empty holding tanks and treat, etc. etc

Always better if you can find a friendly dock neighbor for a weekly check (a case if wine helps) or mount a camera or remote thermostat of some kind also - just for peace of mind.

Congratulations on the boat - you will love the area. Is there a direct flight from Medicine Hat to Victoria ?
